I can't believe I didn't include disclaimers. Someone mentioned that I probably don't need them, as there are site-wide ones or something, but it can't hurt. Plus it's kind of interesting to try to come up with good ones.
Just a question for whoever eventually finds this journal and reads my stuff-one-shots within a set universe, or a chronological (or story-logical) fic with chapters in order? The thing is, my plotbunnies tend to hop around. A lot. And my muses are somewhat fickle as well. I'm not even finished posting what I have done with Rebel Doctor so far, and I even have a finished (if older) story that I have yet to upload. There's a few fics that I can post quite a lot of before I have to get to this. Eventually, though, I may have posted everything I can possibly post on a single story in chapter order, so I'm wondering how people feel about random one shots within a universe (with some explanation, of course) or if people would rather wait for it to be in order.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Oh, that would probably also be good too-possible Trigger Warning (sexual violence) for musings below. It's about some of the darker Buffy moments, so...proceed with caution?
I finally finished watching BtVS with some friends-and Angel (actually at the right points for the cross-episodes to make sense). And then Torchwood: Miracle Day. Which was pretty good, but I miss Ianto.
Anyway, it surprises me, some of the things people forget about the show. My friends didn't even remember the name of Jesse, or really who he was. On the other hand, I hadn't forgotten his name or existence ever since he showed up-and subsequently made a pretty quick exit stage left.
People remember the almost-rape scene with Spike and Buffy, but they forget entirely about the one where Faith actually rapes Xander. (Some people then go on to ship Xander and Faith...which in the end is just kind of oogy. Even if they're going 'well, she's actually a bit of a tortured soul and needs help'-yeah, she does, and of course Xander probably forgives her because he thinks it's his fault, since he seems the kind of guy to torture himself. But I can't ever see him being comfortable around her again.)
And while Xander is capable of behaving like an idiot, he usually means well. And it's not as if absolutely no one else within the Buffyverse acts like an idiot. Xander blames himself for a lot of stuff, and he actually gets treated pretty shabbily by his friends at times, but he's completely loyal and has a heart of gold. He'd sacrifice himself in a heartbeat for any of them, despite the fact he has no powers. A true White Knight. (Someone also did a count, and apparently Xander saved the most people during the whole series. Doesn't surprise me-while others are doing the fighting, he's helping getting the innocents out and making sure they're all okay. The completely ordinary, selfless courage that, in of itself, is a kind of superpower. Buffy can kind of be like the Doctor-saves the day, same kind of ego, but in the end it's the other people usually who have to have the courage to face the aftermath and pick up the pieces. But that's a different topic.)
His very human-ness is a power that makes him the Heart of the group. Which is why I have mixed feelings on YAHF fics, despite the fact that I'm kind of addicted to them (and have begun to write several). On one hand, Xander puts up with so much darkness that he kind of deserves it. Powers, a way to stick up for himself. On the other hand, giving him powers means he doesn't have that essence of humanity thing that is one of the most awesome things about him. Even if he were like Buffy, he'd still probably stay essentially human in thought and whatever, but at the same time...*throws up hands, unable to express better*
I mean, a mere human, getting Angelus to leave? That takes guts and a whole different kind of power. Humans can be stupid and cause a lot of damage, but there's also a beauty about humanity. And we are powerful.
