Okay, hadn't even really considered this one (weirdly enough, as I really enjoy it-although after a certain point it gets iffy and I'm not sure I like where it went.  But I can at least post up to that point.)
This chapter doesn't even really have much in the way of fanfic (as far as anyone can tell).  But trust me, it's coming!
Also, yes, hopefully soon I will get to posting more of Justice Will Prevail, because there's a lot of it and I'm missing Beyond.

The winds howled outside the rocky citadel, screaming its anger at the People of the Fury.

“Is it always like this?” the Kirach asked, shivering and looking to where, on any other planet, there would be windows.  The Fury tried to smile, but it was obvious he hadn’t had much practice.  It came out a cruel, disturbing gesture, just as the weather of the planet.  He’d been much more welcoming with no expression at all.

“It’s said that the winds are alive, that another race dared challenge our supremacy.  We stripped them of bodies, and their disembodied voices continue to vent their rage.”

She shivered again.  As a Kirach, she was usually unconcerned with the dealings of her people, as long as they got paid, but these-and the General’s assistant-made her nervous.  Perhaps it was being out of their territory.  She didn’t agree with the decisions of the Menditar, but she would follow their mandates to the Far Reaches and beyond.

“Now, we were discussing the terms.  The General will receive word from you, so?”

Reluctantly, she nodded.  He smiled again, fangs glimmering in the dim light.

“We are interested.  Very interested, especially since an emissary of one of our greatest enemies, the Terran Systems, has sent to us word of his coming-and that he may not be entirely adverse to our plans.  The Kirach are trying to expand their territory, so?”

Again, she nodded.

“Well, if you ever make it out into the Frontier again, we make very good employers.”

She did her best not to grit her teeth.  As mercenaries, they’d only ever remained within their own galaxy.  Expansion made sense…but every sense rebelled against it.  “We want a fair share of the kysrite.”

He nodded knowingly.  “Ah, yes, the red crystal.  I believe I heard somewhere that it is the unusual material that your weapons rely upon, so?  We will have mines, with slaves, after the war is over.  A cheap supply for your aid in this time of tragedy.  I have a favor to request of you, although you may of course check with the General first.  It will be something, I’m told, you like.  There is one that may put a stop to our plans.”

“Eliminate him?”  She grew excited, a warmth spreading through her torso and clinging gyras.  This is what she was meant for, not wandering all over the galaxy mediating negotiations.  If people wanted to talk, they should come to the other, or it wasn’t that important after all.  She didn't understand the ways of these strange people.

“He goes by the name of Nebula Star, and you can find him on Delphi Solea.  It’s in the Wild Lands, probably a little more comfortable territory for you.”

She actually smiled at him then, the look of a predator, the bloodlust running through her brain like the juice of a Tiyka fruit.
