We'll get back to Justice Will Prevail at some point.  In the meantime, as a new user, I'd like an opinion from whatever readers I (will) have: how should warnings be phrased?  (I don't want the trigger warning to be triggering by itself.  I want to try to avoid making anyone feel that awful, but I don't know exactly how to go about posting warnings.)
At the same time, this is a little goofy and yet very appropriate.  Sinestro and Light Yagami have a lot in common.  It was a simple step from Raito's Corps of Fear to L as a Green Lantern, because he was definitely going for victory just by sheer force of will.  (And Misa as the obsessive yandere Star Sapphire, but we'll get to that later.)
Why is his name Raito in this one?  ...Mostly because 'Light Lantern Corps' sounds stupid.  And not at all menacing.  Which isn't the point, at all.
I'm curious-what Lantern Corps would your favorite character belong to?  Or just any characters, really.  It'd be fun to speculate.

Fandom: Death Note/Green Lantern Crossover

Trigger Warning: (Brief) mention of attempted sexual violence.  (Takuo Shibuimaru)
DISCLAIMER: If I owned Green Lantern we'd be getting a new movie already.  (Seriously, if the only complaint most of the people who watched the movie was 'I hated the CG costumes', that's a pretty flimsy dislike there.)  If I owned Death Note...hmm.  Not sure I'd change all that much, really.  Though we'd probably have Another Note as an anime, or Beyond showing up again.  He's...cool, in an extremely dark and twisted way.  (Black Lantern there.)

Dhl`prexia paused outside the room.  Sure, humans were weird, but this one…this one was weirder than probably the rest of his race combined.  Quite frankly, he gave her Dread.  No one could deny that he was a good Green Lantern…one of the best, in fact.  His will was one of the strongest in the Corps.  Rumors had it that he really did feel fear, but she’d never seen a sign of it.  Or any other emotion, really.  He rarely used his ring if he could help it, preferring subtle manipulation.  If he did summon constructs, they were often not flashy.  In fact, often one couldn’t even tell that he was the origin of said construct unless he actually came out and said so.  And even then he’d been known to lie before (well, possibly lie…no Green Lantern had ever really caught him at it).

His habits were even weirder.  For instance, he didn’t like to fly like every other Green Lantern.  Trying to get his spine straight in order to fly correctly would probably be difficult enough anyways.  No, he’d create a construct shuttle thing of some kind where he could sit crouched up in that funny way of his as his will ferried him around the stars.

And he was always talking to someone through a device he’d assembled himself.  As far as she could tell, this person handled the majority of his affairs on his home planet, as well as aiding him in his duties as a Green Lantern.  The situation was highly irregular, but then, so was he.  Complaints had been made to the Guardians about it, but the wise leaders of the Green Lantern Corps refused to do anything about it.  Presumably he had been chosen for his skill, but surely a human had to exist with as much skill without the undeniably strange demeanor…right?

“Hello?  You may come in, if you wish.”  A smooth voice greeted her, and she gulped.  She hadn’t meant to be noticed.  After deciding that no matter how much she wanted to leave it would be rude, she pressed a button and the door slid open.

Huge eyes that appeared black at this distance surveyed her calmly, and with just a hint of curiosity if she wasn’t imagining details like that.  The strange head adornment that humans called ‘hair’ was spiky on this one.  As usual, his uniform was baggy, probably to accommodate a larger range of movement.  He sat in his usual crouch, utensil termed a fork balanced delicately between two fingers as he savored another bite of the Earth delicacy cake.

“Would you like a slice?” he asked eventually, half muffled by the bite he’d taken.

Her wings fidgeted slightly.  “F…forgive me, Lantern L, but…if you do not recall, Aprexa find grain products from most planets toxic.”

If possible, his huge eyes grew even wider, an expression almost of horror frozen on his face.  He even forgot to chew, so great was his shock.  She fidgeted some more.

Finally, he swallowed what was left.  “I…I am sorry,” he managed.

“It is not your fault,” she pointed out, but if anything his expression became even more distressed.  Finally, he twirled himself around on his chair and began rummaging around in the cabinets underneath his monitor screen.

“You don’t have to…” she began, but he was soon turning around in his chair, holding out what was probably another Earth delicacy almost pleadingly.

“I…would not wish to poison you.  Or anyone.  But I was wondering…if you cannot have cake, perhaps you can eat this?  I would recommend scanning it to make sure it is edible for a...an Aprexis?”  The last part was a question.  Evidently, he had not encountered her species before.  Then again, since their space sectors were in vastly different portions of the galaxy, she didn’t find that altogether surprising.  “Aprexlok,” she automatically corrected, instructing her ring to scan the alien food.  From the concentrating look on his face, the Lantern was committing the word to memory.

Evidently it wasn’t poison, and with an understandable hesitation she took it.

“It is called ‘ice cream’,” the pale-skinned human supplied helpfully, black-rimmed eyes watching her carefully, with a hint of pity.

Was he waiting for her to actually eat it in front of him?  How embarrassing.  Still, the sooner she complied, the sooner he would probably leave her alone.  Cautiously, her tongues inched out of the slits in her cheeks, and she gave the strange substance a lick.

“Are they supposed to do that?” Lantern L asked, interrupting her thoughts, indicating her wings which had begun to curl.

A second passed as she fought for breath to reply, but finally she asked in wonder, “…is this restricted to the royalty on your planet?”

His expression was still a trifle confused.  That is, if she was reading human facial expressions clearly.  Emotions would be so much easier to detect if he’d only had wings.  “…no.  In fact, in Europe some cities have ice cream shops every few blocks or so.”

Her eyes opened wide with wonder, and she had to fight down a mewling sound in the back of her throat.  She started to turn purple from the shame.  She was going into ecstasy in front of a human, no less.  “I…I will have to visit.  When I have a break.  Thank you much.”

His mouth spread into a childish grin of delight.  “It is strawberry flavor,” he added offhandedly.  “And I often have ice cream somewhere around, so feel free to ask should you see me.  You are also welcome to help yourself.”

She would.  But she’d try to restrict herself, she reminded herself.  She hurried off to enjoy her treat somewhere private.

The world was rotten.  It needed change.  It needed a savior.  And Raito decided, staring into the depths of the cave, that he would answer the call.

The wicked needed to tremble at his footsteps, at the very mention of his name.  They needed to be reminded that every action had his consequence, and he…he would bring the consequences to those who believed they were untouchable, that their sins would never come back to haunt them.  Fear would keep them in line.  And when the evil feared, the good would have nothing to fear.  The innocent and pure of heart were safe from his wrath, for he would protect them.

He’d discovered the cave several days ago.  It had been hard to reach, but he'd been bored and had nothing else to do.  Once he'd gotten close enough, he'd noticed the yellow glow.  Odd, for a cave.  Bioluminescence was rare, and would be interesting to study.  He'd gathered a few samples of the yellow crystal and put it in his bag, wanting to make a few tests.

Of course, he hadn’t realized its power at first.  It had taken his first victory to demonstrate the full potential of what he’d found.  He'd been in no danger, of course, but a good citizen like him couldn't just stand by and watch.  Alongside the fear, there had been disgust.  How could a man like that Shibuimaru Takuo (as he'd introduced himself) attempt to assault a woman in broad daylight in public without any fear of repercussion?  Even if he hadn't gotten very far, he had tried to pull her into an alley, and no one attempted to stop him.  Was it the power of fear?  Was it, even such in an obvious, clear case of right and wrong, powerful enough to allow such things to go unpunished?

The yellow crystal in his packs suddenly glowed, powerful enough to blind everyone.  Everyone, oddly enough, except him.  He shouldn't have been able to see what was going on-see men, women, children run in absolute panic amidst the chaos of shrieks and screams.  He shouldn't have been able to see the woman fall, crouching, shielding herself as if expecting attack while the terrified man gunned his motorcycle and attempted to flee...straight into the path of a moving truck.

Raito knew enough of police procedure that he should stay at the scene.  A few policemen showed up to take statements, but didn't notice him, or several others, in the chaos.  It seemed that few remembered even vague details of what had happened, their minds still clouded by fear.  None of them remembered him, or even where the flash had come from, and he wasn't even considered a suspect.  The only one who truly knew what had happened was Raito Yagami, and as much as he wanted to hide from it, he knew the truth.  The buildup of fear and anger had caused some sort of reaction from the crystal.  He didn't have to literally see the effects, just feel them.  It only took a little intelligence to understand that he wasn't affected as the others were, and the sudden glow from the crystal was the cause for all the fear and pain.

He’d tossed and turned guiltily, unable to sleep, wondering if he had done wrong by stepping in.  True, the man was about to become one of the worst types of criminals, but still...to take a life like that?  But at last when he broke free of the restraints society placed on him, he realized that he’d done the world of favor.  The world, and the people in it, could do without scum and evil like that.  Someone had to deal with those who so far had believed they escaped justice.  Why shouldn’t it be him?  They had to fear the consequences if they committed crimes.  They had to fear society.  Those who were just would live in his new world, free of the fear they felt when viewing the evildoers and other scum of society.  On the other hand, fear would keep the guilty in line.  A little experimentation (discreetly, of course; he couldn't be caught yet, because society would no doubt frown on his actions despite the good he was doing) was enough to confirm his suspicions.  Feeding emotion into the crystal could cause others to become afraid.  The more emotion, the more effect.  And a distinct advantage could be found when doing it in a controlled manner-no bursts of light to give himself away.

Raito was going to save the world, even if he had to practically destroy it first.
