DISCLAIMER: Again, Doctor/Martha isn't a thing.
Summary: Not the most cringiest, but not great. Mostly archiving here. More of a drabble than anything. The Doctor and Martha have a kid.
"Dad, I'm going to ignore my homework and go outside to explore a potentially deadly forest."
"Right. Make sure you make it back by the time we leave, though. Which should be in, what...eight hours?"
"See you then!" The young time traveler bounced out the doors with a wave before Martha could catch him.
She walked into where the Doctor was lying on the floor working on the TARDIS console and pulled him out. He stared at her, oblivious to her anger.
"You just let him go?" she asked, glaring at him.
"He can take care of himself." He shrugged and was about to go back to work, when he recognized the expression on her face. "Um...you're mad about something."
"He's just a kid! You can't just let him go and do that." Martha felt embarrassed as her eyes began to moisten, and instantly he was on his feet, wiping her tears away and holding her close.
"I'm guessing it's a human thing. All right...I guess I'd better go after him. Can you manage?" he stared at the console and ran an oil-covered hand through his hair, getting dirty streaks everywhere, and handing her the sonic.
"I can find the manual," she sighed. He grabbed her around the waist and threw her into the air, catching her deftly and kissing her tenderly.
"I'll be back before you know it," he promised, winking at her with a look of such affection and playfulness that she almost followed him out those doors.
"You better, mister," she muttered to the empty TARDIS walls and set about finding that manual of TARDIS mechanics.
