Doctor Dream
Feb. 9th, 2020 06:01 pmFandom: Doctor Who
Rating: Teen
DISCLAIMER: Again, Doctor/Martha isn't a thing.
Summary: Not the most cringiest, but not great. Mostly archiving here. Yeah, actually a legit dream I had.
The Doctor told Martha to hurry, personally stopping to grab his pinstripe jacket. It began to rain, drops showing as splotches on his coat. Later, a rather plain, frumpled woman is telling him that his latest companion isn't for him. "She doesn't have the brains, darling. But don't worry-I'll save you the trouble of getting rid of her."
He's really, really worried because she comes off as a psychopathic killer who believes she's doing the world a favor. Later, flying creatures attack. They try to kill Martha, but don't succeed. The Doctor's trying to figure out whether they didn't kill her. "Maybe I was lucky," Martha speculated. He shook his head emphatically.
"If that were the solution, you'd be long dead," he told her, not realizing that was rude until she mutters, "Oh, thanks, Doctor."
Frustrated, he grimaces. "That's not what I meant."
Finally, he figures it out. The Face of Boe is with them, for some reason. "Boe...have you died before?" Boe nods. "It's the rain!" he exclaims excitedly. "Anyone it touches...died already, or will die in the future. Well, near future. The rain didn't touch you, Martha, so for some reason you were safe."
And more of Daniel Winters... "Before you, I didn't even do domestic. Those small little moments, where you're just staring into the other's eyes or sitting on a park bench and holding hands, or whatever...those things you read about in romances, I thought...that'll never be me. I can't just do nothing. I don't do that sort of thing. But the thought of cuddling, just spending time with you...doesn't sound as bad as it once did, Martha."
"What animal would you be, if you were one, Martha?" People are turning into animals, and it's up to the Doctor to save the day. But how can he do it when he's not himself?
